Riccardo Barone

Composer and pianist

Riccardo Barone was born in Torre del Greco, in the city of Naples, on the 11th april.

Riccardo Barone was born in an artistic world. His father Pasquale Barone is an important painter winner of many world prizes.

At the age of 18 he was accepted into the experimental composition class of M° Enrico Renna at the conservatory St Pietro a Majella of Naples and parallel in M° Luigi Averna’s class for a three years course at piano studies.

His every thoughts were artistic visions which had become an obsession in every aspect of his conscience leading him to have a pessimistic vision of society so much so that  he was eventually led into a misanthropist conception of existence.

Among his most significante experiences, we can recall his composition and techniques improvisions for the silent cinema, held by Professor G. Buchwald. Some of his orchestral works have been carried out in the “Maggio dei Monumenti” occasion during 2002 – 2003; has written with the collaboration of the composition workshop of  M° L.M. lo Gatto (with the supervision of M° S.Miceli) a soundtrack for the short film of Susanna Nicchiarelli “Il linguaggio dell’amore” at the National School of Cinema; has written scene music for “Senza titolo” , a drama written by V. Modica at The Academy of Beautiful Arts of Naples; he was classified the winner for the “Antonio Manoni competition for composers, with the work “Evasione IV”, published by Berben editors; he sing in the choir of the conservatory “San Pietro a Majella” of Naples, participating at important concerts like that on occasion of “40 concerts in the Day of the Lord” at San Marcello Church in Rome.

He's graduated in piano at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella, in Naples with M° L. Averna and he's studying for his second degree in composition with M° E. Renna.

At this present moment he is an adviser for the “Eutherpe Association”, thinking programmes for organized concerts and the unknown. He has finishing “Cronology of the Composers”, a text whereby we can trace the descendent of pupil – teacher from medieval to today.

He composes music for films, media and videogames.

In the major part of his compositions (written for different organizations including electronic music) there is a vain of deep sadness and meditation, often towards the cruel world and miserable abbondance. Among his re-occurring thoughts are those negatives ones directed towards a society which shows no interest towards culture, only towards popular conceptions.

At the moment he's composing for media, spot, and for himself.
